CHEF’S STORY
Hans Christian holds a bachelor in Culinary Nutrition and Food Science from Johnson & Wales University and has spent some time in the culinary research development before coming back to fine dining. While living in the States, Hans polished his cooking skills by few staging experiences & working full time at various acclaimed restaurants, such as Yono’s Fine Dining Restaurant in Albany, New York and one Michelin-starred Next Restaurant of the Alinea Group in Chicago. He also spent some time doing pop-up series hosted by few restaurants in Chicago.
After returning to Indonesia in 2016, Hans joined Fairmont Hotel Jakarta as Chef de Cuisine to lead the team at VIEW Restaurant, a 30-seater fine dining restaurant serving modern European cuisine with an Asian twist. During his three year stint at VIEW, Hans steered the team to win multiple restaurant awards.
Near the end of 2019, he decided to move on & embark on his new adventure to elevate Jakarta’s culinary scene by curating August.
